(AFP) - An explosion rocked the Marcoule nuclear site in southern France on Monday, but there was no leak of radioactive material, the French government said.
One person was killed and four people were injured, including one seriously, local newspaper the Midi Libre reported.

The site is partly used by French nuclear giant Areva to produce MOX fuel which recycles plutonium from nuclear weapons, AFP reported.
The site is located in the Rhone Valley, near the city of Nimes, and is just 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the historic city of Avignon, which is thronged with tourists at this time of year.
