Sorry I mistakenly put it M mount. Maybe because nowadays people often have it converted to M mount.
I am personally a FD user. I use a new F-1+20-35L. But I said Nikon is popular than Canon is just based on my personal experience. I saw many old guys out on the street very few of them are carrying Canon SLRs. Most of them are very proud of the F mark on their cameras.
The victory of canon over nikon is the result of their electronic technology on the camera itself not the FD lens. I would say new F-1 is a master piece regarding its technical break through in fast photography. But new technology is easily faded in time. So on the street, you can see people who use a film slr seldom use the canon one, instead they still have F and FM series around their necks.
Without question EF is far more glorious than FD regarding all aspects. That's why they always celebrate the birth of EF mount but not that of FD.
