well,
promesse d'embauche is quite like offer letter, this document is to define what kind of contract they will sign with you, most of time a CDI contract.
in this document, it is important to have description on how they will process this employment, that is the part i explained with CDD information, 3 months probation etc.
please be aware that promesse d'embauche is a letter a company issued to promise you that they would hire you with a CDI contract (most ofcases), additionally, there should be some info such as probation period, CDD contract.
generally, promesse d'embauches has nothing to do with CDD contract, but in my case they added CDD info in it due to the fact that i am foreigner and i need time to have my working permit ready...
