故事的主角是一个长期流放俄国的革命人士，经历了苏俄政府的瓦解。在人生暮年时，终于可以回归故乡。当他以如此矛盾而又暧昧的身份，再回到记忆中熟悉的地方，再面对家人与朋友时，他感觉到了人情的疏离，对未来的盲目，对于祖国低度的认同与漠视。人们企图卸下记忆的承重，却又害怕轻得迷失方向。在这样的环境下，他意识到自己已经真正失去了国籍。最终，和他离别多年的爱人漂在爱琴海中的浮岸上。

Eleni Karaindrou (1942 - ?)

如果古希腊诗人荷马曾经创作音乐，它必然像这样：黑暗、神秘而富于沉思性，同时散发出红酒的醇香与海水的苦涩，悲凉与诗意并存，用毫无保留的热情去歌唱爱与失落。简而言之，这正如卡兰卓（Eleni Karaindrou）——我们这个时代最具说服力与表现力的希腊作曲家的音乐。

"I like marrying sounds I know--Greektraditional folk to jazz or classical," she says. "I feel like apainter, taking dabs of color from a wide variety of sources and makingsomething out of it."
