On May 12, 2007, Rivaldo announced that he would leave Olympiakos over failed contract extension talks and neglectful management. It has not yet been made known if he will continue his playing career elsewhere or retire.
In 2005, he was surprisingly signed by Djurgårdens IF and Ba moved to Sweden. He was a spectacular signing for Djurgården, and caused much interest in Sweden. It was thought that a less prestigious league might bring back Ba's old ability. Djurgården won the league in his first season, but Ba failed to impress fans and commentators and spent a lot of time on the bench. In early 2006, it was decided that his contract would be terminated and he subsequently left Djurgården in January 2006.
Lentini played football for Canelli (Serie D/A), and his salary was around £1700 (€2500) per month. He signed for Canelli in 2004, when the team was playing regional Eccellenza league. He has now retired.
