一直不懂法国的ingenieur financiere是什么? 感觉跟英美的financial engineering不同,后者偏quantitive finance ,前者给人的感觉像corporate finance.

I come here nearly never, I respond this post since i saw it. I come from MF;
Generally,finance specialty is seperated by three classes.General Finance=Coporate finance, Financial Engeneering, Mathematical Finance.
In the worldwide, Mathematical finance is the hottest one, its placement is Quant, in Usa, NYU, Berkely, CMU,Comlunbia ,Stanford are in the list of top five greatest bandes.
In europe, IC , CAMBRIDGE, oxford, ETHZ,Paris 6 are top 5.
In france, of course, the best background is X+ENSAE, or X+Paris 6.there are few chinese who can enter these ecoles or universities. If you want to a good placement in paris or london, you can should choose the following universities, paris 7, marle valée,maybe evry (university is not good).
Of course, you should keep one idea in head, ENSAE and Paris 6 are the best no any doubt. Paris 9 is very good too. but their students are from mainly Grande ecoles d'ingenieurs, if you are not mathematician students, you have not any chance to enter, even if you can be in, you have not any chance to graduate successfully.Finally, you should have a very good M1 transcripts or you come from very famous chinese universities for entering these Ecoles.
As for General Finance, that is not worth saying, it is a triavial and traditional fields. Finiancial Engeneering is the middle specialty between MF and GF, maybe one good chance for beginning your trader career, but less quantitatively.
Repeating again, MF is the hottest one, students from Mf can have a better salaries than students of Havard Bussiness School. Give your a detailed number, students from CMU earn 117000 dollars (beginning salaries) in average every year in 2006.
