Pumas are large cat-like animal which are found in America.Whenreports came into London Zoo that a wild puma had been spottedfourty-five miles south of London,it was not taken seriously.However,asthe evidences began to accumulate,the experts felt obliged toinvestigate,for the descriptions from who claimed to had seen the pumawere in common. The hunt for the puma began in a small villege where a womanpicking blackberries saw a "cat like animal" only five yards away fromher.It ran away immidiately when it saw her and the experts confirmedthat a puma will not attack a human being unless it is connerd.Thesearch proved diffcult,for the puma was observed at one place in themorning and at another place twinty miles away in the evening.Whereverit went,it left behind it a trail of dead deer and some animals likerabbits.Some people complained of "cat noise" at night and a bussinessman on a fishing trip saw the puma up a tree.The experts were now fullyconviced that the animal was a puma,but where had it come from?As nopuma had been reported missing from any zoo in London,this one musthave been in the poccession of private cllector and somehow managed toescape.It's destubing to think that a dangerous animal is still atlarge in a quiet countryside.
