事情是這樣的：蘇格蘭旗艦樂團Belle & Sebastian主唱Stuart Murdoch寫了一些歌，這些歌逐漸串成一個故事，故事有了女主角Eve。
他打算將故事拍成一齣音樂電影God Help The Girl，可在此之前，他想先把音樂錄好，他需要一位女歌手詮釋Eve這名角色。他在報紙刊登徵才廣告，幾經篩檢，愛爾蘭姑娘Catherine Ireton雀屏中選，成為這張「原聲帶」的領銜女聲。
她並不孤單，Belle & Sebastian全團擔任伴奏，還有一組龐大的管弦樂團在側翼掩護，Stuart Murdoch也親自下海，與其餘幾名歌者眾星拱月地襯托她。
Catherine Ireton甜美的歌聲乍聽與Zooey Deschanel有幾分神似，不過來得更圓潤婉轉（Zooey的高音有些刺耳）。「原聲帶」重玩了Belle & Sebastian兩首舊作Act Of The Apostle Part 1與Funny Little Frog（皆收錄於2006年的專輯The Life Pursuit），新版的節奏放慢了些，情調更慵懶。其餘十二首都是新歌，由Belle & Sebastian小喇叭手Mick Cooke挑大樑的A United Theory是最有爵士風味的純演奏曲；此外，Divine Comedy主唱Neil Hannon也替Perfection As A Hipster溫暖獻聲。
Perfection As A Hipster開頭的鼓聲像極了Jesus & Mary Chain名曲Just Like Honey的經典前奏，是刻意模仿還是巧合我們無從得知，一如God Help The Girl的電影版究竟會不會如期動工也還是未知數。但由音樂先替電影暖身，這種逆向操作的他手法倒是滿有意思。
