1. Complete the online application form, and, if you choose, submit your payment online. Note: By paying online you will avoid the 5 Euro credit card transaction fee per visa application at the VAC. Print a copy of the completed online application form.
NOTE: If you are part of a family or group, each member of the family or group must complete a separate online application form.
2. After you submit the application online, you will receive an email with an application ID number. Save this number for future reference.
3. Using your application ID number, book an appointment to attend the VAC. You must have an appointment to submit your application at the VAC. You can make your VAC appointment online by selecting “Make an Appointment at the Visa Application Centre” from the navigation bar on the left and following the instructions.
NOTE: If you are part of a family or group, each member of the family or group must make an individual appointment. This is true for adults and children. For example, if you are a family of four with two adults and two children, you must make four individual appointments.
4. When you attend your appointment, you should bring the following:
* A printed copy of your online application form. Please ensure that you print the whole form.
* If you have paid online, then please ensure that you print the receipt from the internet and bring it with you.
* Your current passport (and previous passports if available)
* Two passport-sized (45mm x 35mm) colour photographs of yourself. The photographs should be:
o taken against a light coloured (white, off-white etc.) background, unmounted, clear and of good quality
o printed on photographic paper
o full face without sunglasses, hat or other head covering unless for ethnic or religious reasons
Please note that photographs which do not meet these specifications will not be accepted.
* Proof of online payment. If you have not already paid online then you should bring means of paying at the VAC. They accept cash in Euros and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa or Maestro). If you pay by credit card at the VAC there will be a 5 Euro transaction fee per visa application. If you choose to pay online there is no transaction fee.
* The supporting documents relevant to your visa type. You will be sent a list of these by email when you submit your online application. You can also access further guidance by using the following link: www.ukvisas.gov.uk. If you do not provide the full documentation, your application may be refused.

* You must provide copies of those documents that you wish to be returned.
* If you wish your passport to be returned by post then you should bring a return envelope complete with pre-paid postage. Please arrange with the post office for sufficient postage for the weight of the documents you are submitting.
If you prefer, you may also pick up the documents at the Paris VAC free of charge. The Paris VAC provides Chronopost envelopes for an additional charge of €21. Please note that it will not be a same day service, therefore, the Paris Full-Service VAC will need to keep your original documents while the visa application is processed. Unless applying for a visa to transit the UK or to visit Commonwealth or dependent territories, it is advisable not to arrange any travel tickets prior to obtaining the required visa.
* IMPORTANT: If you fail to bring any of these with you to your appointment the British Embassy Paris Visa Section will not be able to process your application.
