The Croatian government has lifted the visa requirement for citizens of China from 1 April to 31 October
2010.
Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs has confirmed that the visa requirement will be lifted for Chinese
residents with valid Schengen or EU visas allowing them to visit all EU member states that have signed the
Schengen Agreement.
Bajs met with Wu Lianqi, ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Croatia, yesterday (Tues).
Bajs said he hoped the two countries would increase their cooperation in the business and tourism sectors
after the opening of the Croatian tourist board office in Shanghai next year.
This year, Croatia will take part in two Chinese tourism fairs, one in April in Beijing and another in May in
Shanghai.
Croatia was visited by 7,600 Chinese tourists last year, 19 per cent more than in 2008.
Bajs hopes that the lifting of the visa requirement lift result in an increase in that number.
Ambassador Wu said the move was great news because more and more Chinese were interested in visiting
Croatia.
