some personal recommendations, just have a look at harvard business shcool's five forces strategy , which is seen as a concept and tools and also can be used in different fields. by comparsion, the five forces' advantages are to list some solutions, which based the same funtional part of SWOT. in profit-making organizations, the five forces is far more well-funtional. but actually, in university of France, they are more likely to teach students the SWOT, because of the lack of the resources of education,but in some good business school, the five forces ,specially in strategy management and risk management course, is playing a dominant role.
