2.53GHz clock, 12MB cache


Intel will finally launch a quad-core notebook processor. It is reserved for the extreme performance price segment and the first mobile quad core will work at 2.53GHz core clock with a FSB of 1,066MHz, and it has 12MB cache.

The Core 2 Extreme QX9300 is based on the 45nm Penryn dual core design and it doesn’t look that much different from the desktop Wolfdale. We would bet that it’s the same chip as the TDP is 45W, which is at least 10W higher than the highest recommended notebook TDP of 35W. However, this CPU will only end up in high-end 15 to 17-inch notebooks, if not even bigger. We guess 45W is the best Intel can do for the time being.

This CPU fits into the Montevina platform and it should launch in late Q3 and September should be the month. The original plan was to launch this CPU in Q4, but Intel pulled it into late Q3.

其实四核的本本早就有了（07年），不过用的不是想象中的QX而已。。。。。。。
